There is something about analyzing data that I love! I love to look for patterns. I love to help figure out through multiple data sets what is breaking down for a student and how best to help a them succeed. A good “excel” project can easily put me in a state of “flow.” I take pride in a collaborative database project that 2 colleagues at Northwest AEA, a principal, and I have developed over the course of several years. We are gathering intervention data and monitoring the student data regularly in order to meet their needs in the areas of reading and math.
So, when my 2010 blogging data landed in my email in-box today, I went straight to analyzing it! I’ve known for some time that the post with the highest hits in one day was Engaged, Involved and Accountable… I’m also noticing that A Vocabulary Journey… was well received. This data is guiding my thoughts on blogging for the following year. A goal is to continue blogging about other useful strategies to assist in accelerating student learning.
Now for the data. A “data queen” has to love this stuff. Especially when my “Blog Meter” reads WOW! Not bad for 6 months of blogging. Especially for someone who was reluctant to blog, thinking she didn’t have anything to write about. Thanks for the push @rchmcgrth!
The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health:
The Blog-Health-o-Meter™ reads Wow.
